Course History
Westridge Golf Course in McKinney, Texas, opened in 2001 as a public layout designed by Jeff Brauer. Brauer, a past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, founded GolfScapes, Inc. in Arlington, Texas, in 1984 after beginning his career in Chicago. He has designed over 50 courses, including notable DFW-area projects such as Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand Prairie, and The Trails of Frisco Golf Club, as well as acclaimed layouts like The Quarry at Giants Ridge in Minnesota and Colbert Hills in Kansas. The par-72 course stretches over 7,000 yards from the back tees and features a unique balanced design with six par 3s, six par 4s, and six par 5s—the only such configuration in Texas—set amid rolling terrain, trees, lakes, and deep bunkers with Tiff Eagle Bermuda greens. Initially associated with Stonebridge Westerra, L.P., it was sold in 2019 to WRidge Golf, LLC for a reported $1.9 million. In late 2025, it was acquired by Kansas-based EPR Properties as part of a $113 million portfolio of five North Texas courses. The course hosts local amateur events like NCCGA tournaments and U.S. Kids Golf championships but lacks records of major professional tournaments or famous members.
