Course History
Westdale Hills Golf Course originated as Sotogrande Country Club around 1968, established as an elite par-3 layout billed as the finest of its kind in Texas and part of a development owned by Dallas businessman Robert Fulton. The course fell into disrepair and abandonment before receiving a redesign in the late 1990s by Ben Crenshaw, the two-time Masters champion known for his partnership with Bill Coore on acclaimed minimalist courses like Sand Hills Golf Club and Friar's Head. Bunker Hill Construction handled the build, and the nine-hole par-27 facility reopened in 1997 as Westdale Hills, integrated into the surrounding Westdale Hills apartment complex in Euless, Texas. The course was closed for over two years prior to 2018 for water line work, during which the owners made additional improvements before reopening. It hosts local events including a weekly American Airlines employee tournament started in 2004 and themed par-3 majors like the Westdale Hills Masters and U.S. Open, but no professional tournaments are documented.
