Course History

Waterview Golf Club in Rowlett, Texas, is Rowlett's first public golf course, designed by David Graham in partnership with Gary Panks and opened in 2000. The course was built on former flat pastureland, transformed into a lush, gently rolling par-72 layout stretching 7,191 yards from the tips, featuring 15 acres of lakes on 10 holes, over 1,500 trees of 18 species, and originally Bentgrass greens that were renovated to Tif-Eagle Bermuda in 2019. Graham, an Australian Hall of Famer who won the US Open in 1981 and US PGA Championship in 1979 among eight PGA Tour titles, partnered with architect Gary Panks from 1988 to 1997 to design several courses including the Talon at Grayhawk in Arizona and Raven at South Mountain, though no other DFW work by the pair is documented. The club has hosted local charity tournaments like those for HLS Charities and Dallas GAA but no major professional events. It underwent significant course renovations closing it for summer 2019 including greens resprigging, retaining walls on holes 3, 8, and 18, bunkers, and cart paths under American Golf ownership, now managed by IMG Prestige, with no redesign architect credited publicly. No previous names or notable members are recorded.
