Course History
The Retreat is an 18-hole private golf course designed by Harrison Frazer and opened for play in 2004 in Cleburne, Texas, as part of a 3,000-acre master-planned community developed by Double Diamond Resorts. The course integrates natural features including live oaks, ravines, limestone cliffs, and vistas along the Brazos River area, playing to 7,046 yards from the back tees with a par of 72. Harrison Frazer's background in golf course design is limited in public records, though the name aligns with Texas PGA professional Harrison Frazar, who has noted designing courses in the state alongside his playing career on PGA Tour Champions. The course underwent a significant renovation completed in 2016, led by the club's superintendents and maintenance staff, alongside clubhouse improvements. No previous names or ownership changes prior to Double Diamond Resorts are documented, and the club has hosted internal events such as MGA tournaments and the Frenzel Cup, but no major professional tournaments or notable members are publicly recorded.
