TPC Las Colinas Course
Former host of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson through 2017. Still a stern test with a memorable finish — worth revisiting capital investment.
Former host of the Byron Nelson — still thriving with a new golf shop, patio, and spectacular fitness facilities.

The Nelson Golf & Sports Club in Irving, Texas, comprises two championship courses originally developed as part of the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, which opened its golf facilities in 1983. The TPC Las Colinas course, a par-70 layout measuring 7,166 yards, was designed by Jay Morrish in 1982 with input from golf legend Byron Nelson and Ben Crenshaw, opening in 1983 as part of Las Colinas Sports Club. The adjacent Cottonwood Valley course, a par-71 stretching 7,120 yards featuring a signature Texas-shaped hole, was designed by Jay Morrish and Robert Trent Jones Jr. around 1982-1983 and updated in 2006. These courses hosted the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson Championship for 35 consecutive years: at Las Colinas Sports Club (1983–1985) and TPC Las Colinas (1986–2017), welcoming luminaries like Tiger Woods, Ben Crenshaw, and Payne Stewart during its tenure at the Four Seasons Resort, which changed hands multiple times before its 2022 acquisition by Century Golf Partners and HKI America. The club was subsequently renamed to honor Byron Nelson's legacy. TPC Las Colinas underwent significant redesigns, including a multi-million-dollar overhaul in 2008 led by Steve Wolfard of Weibring-Wolfard Golf Design Group—after consultation with original architect Morrish—and a $9 million renovation in 2011. Today, the private club continues to host events like the AJGA K.J. Choi Foundation Texas Junior Championship and the Texas Golf Association's Tournament of Champions.

A longtime member favorite. Gentler, more parkland feel than the TPC side. May be time to reinvest capital per AvidGolfer.
