Course History
The Golf Club at Fossil Creek in Fort Worth, Texas, opened in 1987 as a public resort course designed by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer in collaboration with Ed Seay and Robert Walker. One of Palmer's final signature designs, it was built on the site of an old quarry, incorporating rocky-ledged creeks, crystal lakes, contoured bluffs, and massive trees into its links-style layout. Palmer, a seven-time major champion who founded Arnold Palmer Design Company, created over 300 courses worldwide, including notable DFW-area works like the courses at Las Colinas Country Club. The course earned quick acclaim, nominated by Golf Digest as one of Texas's best new public courses upon opening and named one of America's best new resort courses in 1988. In 2022, owner Arcis Golf led major renovations, rebuilding all 56 bunkers using the Better Billy Bunker method and upgrading clubhouse facilities including a new Lifestyle Shop, Arnie’s Retreat honoring Palmer, refreshed ballroom, and enhanced dining and event spaces. No previous names or notable professional tournaments are documented.
