Course History
The Plantation Golf Club in Frisco, Texas, opened in 1988 as an 18-hole public course designed by Richard Ellis, a Dallas-area golf professional with a background in club operations and development at ClubCorp. The layout, measuring 6,402 yards from the tips with a par of 72, emphasizes playability for average golfers through wide fairways and multiple tee options, while incorporating water hazards on several short par-4s and par-3s. An extensive renovation in summer 2003 addressed the greens, bunkers, and clubhouse, including reversing the front and back nines to improve pace of play. The course has remained Frisco's longest-running public facility and serves as the centerpiece of the Plantation Resort community.
