LIV host for the last two years. Softened with age but still a bold, water-heavy test from the tips.

Course History
The site of Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, has hosted golf since 1952, when the Columbian Country Club—formed in 1881—relocated there and opened a new layout by Fort Worth native Ralph Plummer. Plummer, who started as a caddie at Glen Garden Country Club and assisted John Bredemus before designing or remodeling over 100 courses, including DFW-area standouts like Preston Trail Golf Club, Dallas Athletic Club, and Champions Golf Club (Cypress Creek), shaped the original design. The club later became the Honors Golf Club and closed in 2008.
Energy executive Albert Huddleston bought the property around 2014 and hired Steve Smyers for a full redesign. Smyers, a University of Florida golf team alum who formed his firm in 1984 and later served as ASGCA president, crafted a rigorous par-72 stretching to 7,800 yards, inspired by The Honors Course and prioritizing native grasses and sustainability. The course debuted on July 15, 2017.
Maridoe quickly established itself as an amateur golf hub, hosting the 2021 USGA Women’s Amateur Four-Ball, 2019 Trans-Mississippi and Southern Amateurs, Texas Mid-Amateur, and the 2024 LIV Golf Team Championship finale won by Ripper GC. It is home to University of North Texas golf teams and counts PGA Tour pros Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth among members.
