Course History
Mansfield National Golf Club in Mansfield, Texas, was designed by John Colligan, principal of Colligan Golf Design in Arlington. Colligan, who holds degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington, has designed or renovated numerous courses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including Hawks Creek Golf Club and Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth, River Crest Country Club, and Squaw Valley Golf Club in Glen Rose. The course opened in November 2000 as a $10 million public-private venture between the City of Mansfield and Evergreen Alliance Golf Limited, which initially managed the facility. It spans 225 acres with 419 Bermuda fairways and Tifdwarf Bermuda greens, playing to 6,850 yards from the back tees.
The club has since transitioned management to Arcis Golf while remaining a co-venture with the city. It earned recognition as Evergreen Alliance Golf Course of the Year in 2002. No major renovations are documented. The course hosts junior tournaments, including the annual K.J. Choi Foundation Texas Junior Championship by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).
