Lantana Golf Club
Arcis property with a ridiculous initiation-to-quality ratio. The clubhouse restaurant-bar is one of our favorites.

Course History
Lantana Golf Club in Argyle, Texas, was designed by Jay Morrish and his son Carter Morrish. Jay Morrish (1936-2015), a prominent golf course architect, earned a degree in landscape and turf management from Colorado State University and began his career working on Robert Trent Jones projects like Spyglass Hill. He later collaborated with Jack Nicklaus for a decade, then partnered with Tom Weiskopf on acclaimed designs including TPC Scottsdale and Mira Vista in Fort Worth, before working with Carter on later courses. The course opened in June 2002 as a semi-private facility developed by Dallas-based Republic Property Group within the Lantana residential community. It transitioned to fully private status in early 2009 after Republic took it private in 2008. Ownership changed hands in 2010 when sold to Austin's Dominion Golf Group, and again in 2019 when Arcis Golf acquired Dominion's portfolio including Lantana. In 2022, Arcis completed a multi-million-dollar clubhouse transformation featuring an open floorplan, new bar, dining, and pro shop, with further phases planned for 2023. The club has hosted local events like section PGA professional championships but no major professional tournaments.
