Course History
The Hank Haney Golf Ranch at Vista Ridge in Lewisville, Texas, is a 9-hole executive course designed by renowned golf instructor Hank Haney in collaboration with Jim Fazio. Haney, former coach to Tiger Woods from 2004 to 2010, PGA Teacher of the Year in 1993, and longtime SMU men's golf coach, brought his teaching expertise to course design, creating a layout that winds around the Trinity River along the I-35 corridor north of Dallas. Construction was handled by Hank Haney Golf, Inc., under Haney's oversight. The course opened in 2003, featuring four par-4s—including one stretching around 360 yards—and five par-3s ranging from 80 to 170 yards, paired with a state-of-the-art teaching center, lighted driving range over water, and short game areas. It measures 1,780 yards from the white tees to par 31.[Hank Haney website](https://hankhaney.com/about/golf-course-design/) [GolfPass](https://www.golfpass.com/travel-advisor/courses/22727-hank-haney-golf-ranch-at-vista-ridge) [GolfNow](https://www.golfnow.com/courses/1590237-hank-haney-golf-ranch-vista-ridge-details)
No previous names or site identities were identified for the property, and no major renovations or notable tournaments have been documented. The facility was managed and operated by Hank Haney Golf, Inc., akin to Haney's other DFW-area venues like the original Golf Ranch in McKinney (collaboratively with Pete Dye, opened 1991-1992). Some directories list it as closed, though Haney's site continues to reference it.[D Magazine](https://www.dmagazine.com/publications/d-magazine/1997/june/people-the-game-builders/) [Yelp](https://www.yelp.com/biz/hank-haney-golf-ranch-at-vista-ridge-lewisville)
