King's Course
The slightly longer and more demanding of the two — interesting routing and architectural elements throughout.

Two superb courses in Plano — the King's and the Queen's — plus one of the top family clubhouses in DFW.

Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, Texas, opened in 1985 as a private club with two 18-hole championship golf courses, the King's and Queen's, both designed by noted architects Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. Von Hagge, an American who designed over 250 courses across 20 countries, and Devlin, an Australian professional golfer turned architect responsible for more than 150 layouts worldwide—many in Texas and Florida that hosted PGA Tour events—created challenging parkland-style layouts inspired by Scottish courses of the same names. The King's Course, par 72 at up to 7,021 yards, is considered the tougher and more favored among members, featuring links-style fairways with mounds, more trees, water, and White Rock Creek; the Queen's, par 71 at around 6,892 yards, offers rolling terrain, many lakes, bunkers, and wind challenges to the north. Local Dallas pro Eldridge Miles praised the Gleneagles courses as von Hagge's most creative work. The club, part of the ClubCorp (now Invited Clubs) network and situated in the Willow Bend area, underwent a six-year, $8.2 million improvement project completed in 2018, enhancing the golf courses (including King's Course renovation in 2017 by Pascuzzo & Pate), driving range, tennis courts, pools, and other amenities, with a Queen's Course renovation also noted. It has hosted events like the Tim Brown Annual Golf Classic, Jordan Spieth's Crush It! Cup youth tournament, and the Levy Cup Matches between Northern and Southern Texas PGA sections. The club employed swing coach Chris Como, later hired by Tiger Woods. No previous names or major ownership changes beyond ClubCorp affiliation are documented.
